GLOBALG.A.P. - Aquaculture base, Chain of Custody

The GLOBALG.A.P. standard is primarily designed to reassure consumers about how food is produced on the farm by minimising harmful environmental impacts of farming operations, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare. GLOBALG.A.P. serves as a practical manual for Good Agricultural Practice (G.A.P.) anywhere in the world. The basis is an equal partnership of agricultural producers and retailers who wish to establish efficient certification standards and procedures.

What the standard looks like

The standard ‘GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA)’ is based on the principles of risk prevention, risk analysis (based on principles of HACCP), sustainable agriculture by means of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Integrated Crop Management (ICM).

These use existing technologies for the continuous improvement of farming systems, enabling certification of a wide range of products as shown below:

  • Agricultural production: Crops Base - Fruit & Vegetables – Flowers & Ornamentals – Combinable Crops  – Tea
  • Animal production: Livestock Base - Cattle & sheep – Dairy – Pigs – Poultry
  • Aquacultural production: Aquaculture Base - Finfish – Crustaceans - Molluscs

The following additional standards are also set under GLOBALG.A.P.:

  • Chain of Custody: Crops – Aquaculture products
  • Compound Feed Manufacturing: Compound Feed Manufacturing for Livestock and Aquacultural production
  • Plant Propagation Material: Plant Propagation Material for Agricultural production
  • GRASP:  GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice

How to get certified

Please send us an inquiry using our contact form. We will then send you an application form for the GLOBALG.A.P.-certification program. When returning this form, we can use the information for preparing a contract for you as soon as possible. If it comes to the contract, one of our auditors will arrange an appointment for the initial on site-audit. The auditor then checks whether your company meets the requirements of the standard and documents these findings in a report. The report is then forwarded to our responsible certifier, who shall review the report and after the successful completion of the audit may issue a certificate for you.
